Samsung patent shows a smartphone with transparent OLED display
Samsung may plan to launch a new transparent smartphone. Patent information shows that Samsung announced a design patent for transparent smartphones last month.
According to reports, Samsung Electronics submitted a design patent application for a transparent smartphone to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in January this year and published the patent on August 27, 2020.

The patent shows the technology involved in transparent smartphones. This solution is based on OLED display technology.
The patent shows that this technology can be used in consumer digital products such as curved and folding screen mobile phones.

LetsGoDigital also drew a 3D rendering of Samsung’s transparent mobile phone based on its patent. From the rendering, the screen is transparent to a certain extent, which is very futuristic. However, the surrounding borders and main sensor components (cameras, buttons, etc.) are still non-transparent.
