Samsung India’s online smartphone market is growing

Samsung India focussing on online retail ways instead of physical stores because the physical stores’ of Samsung were hardly affected due to the Covid-19 pandemic. According to a report quoting Samsung India Senior Vice President Asim Warsi, the company now expects its online business to grow by 35% this year compared to 2019. This indicates that the company trying its competitive impact on Indian online business.

The senior Vice President of Samsung confirmed that the M series of Samsung Galaxy has very successful in India’s online market in 2020 and the M series was the main strength behind the success of Samsung.

“Our average selling price (ASP) for the Galaxy ‘M’ series is likely to grow at 50 percent in 2020. We will double our online business market share in 2020 on the back of 100 percent growth (year-on-year) in the second half (July-December) this year,” Warsi told IANS.

“The ‘M’ series is the single largest brand from any smartphone company in India today, riding on meaningful innovations. M51 will be the most powerful device in the portfolio ever which no other device can match in its price segment,” Warsi added.

“Be it an office-goer, a millennial or a student busy with online classes at home, the ‘Make in India’ M51 will be the go-to device for all,” Warsi added.

“This success is an ode to the fact that M series was designed ground-up in India for the young Indian consumers and manufactured at our factory in Noida,” Warsi said.

“The upcoming Galaxy M51 is the most powerful Galaxy M smartphone yet,” he added.

Recently the South Korean company revealed the release date of the Galaxy M51 in the Indian market. The Galaxy M51 will launch in India on September 10, according to a mocked image on the Amazon India website.

Samsung Galaxy M51 comes with a 6.65inch AMOLED display and a Full HD+ resolution. The Galaxy M51 packed with a 7,000mAh monster battery with 20W fast charging. The device runs on Android 10 and powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 processor. It has 128GB of internal storage and 8GB of RAM.

The device has a 32MP front-facing selfie camera. The Galaxy M51 has a quad-camera setup with a 64MP wide-angle camera, 12MP ultra-wide camera, 5MP depth sensor, and 5MP macro camera. The phone has a dual SIM card slot, LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, USB Type-C port. We can expect the price of around INR25,000 in India.
