Report: Samsung continues its first position in Germany Q2 2020

In the second quarter of this year, Samsung Electronics maintained its number one position in the German smartphone market. At the beginning of the second quarter of 2020, the German smartphone market decreased a lot due to the COVID-19 epidemic.

Apple gained a 23% market share in the second quarter. An increase of 6 percent compared to the previous year. Samsung, the leading German smartphone has maintained a 37% market share, up 1 percentage point from a year earlier, as per Counterpoint Research.

Huawei came in third with an 18% market share in the second quarter, a 2% decline from a year ago. And Xiaomi Corporation has a 5% market share.

The German smartphone market declined 27% from a year ago and 15% in the second quarter. We expect smartphone sales to rise in the third quarter.
