Samsung Exynos 1080 with Cortex-A78 CPU and Mali-G78 GPU coming soon

Samsung Exynos 980 delivered 5G connectivity for the first time in the mid-range silicon segment. The company recently revealed that the development of the Exynos 1080 is continued and it will reveal soon as a successor to the Exynos 980.

According to a report, The company told AndroidAuthority that a full announcement is on the way, but it definitely looks like Samsung’s mid-range 5G phones could be set for another major upgrade in 2021.

Samsung Exynos 1080 SoC could be manufactured using a 5-nanometer process technology. It uses the Cortex-A78 processor cores, as well as the Mali-G78 GPU. The latest processor is expected to be built on a 5nm

The Exynos 1080 SoC got more than 650,000 points on the AnTuTu benchmark and it will go higher after optimization. It has got higher points in comparison to the Snapdragon 865 and Snapdragon 865+. Its power consumption has been reduced by 50% compared to the previous generation.

The Exynos 980 was used in the Galaxy A51 5G and A71 5G, so it expected that the upcoming Exynos 1080 should power Samsung’s upcoming follow-up devices.
