Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra or iPhone 12 Pro Max, Which one should you buy?

Recently, the US smartphone maker Apple introduced its latest iPhone 12 series. It is the first time in a while the company has revealed four different iPhones with 5G connectivity.

In this article, we are going to compare the latest iPhone 12 Pro Max with the top flagship smartphone of Samsung, the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G, and take your opinion about which one you should buy as a consumer.

Design and Build:

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra uses the latest Gorilla Glass Victus while iPhone 12 Pro Max has its own developed ceramic shield on the front of the phone. Apple claims the iPhone 12 Pro Max might be more durable. Both devices have top-notch but the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra looks and feels better than the iPhone 12 Pro Max with a small punch hole.

Price:

We are comparing two high-end flagship devices, so we can’t expect affordable pricing.

Galaxy Note20 Ultra starts at $1,299 (128GB), $1449 (512GB)

iPhone 12 Pro Max starts at $1099 (128GB), $1199 (256GB), $1399 (512GB)

Display:

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra comes with a 6.9-inch Quad HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity-O Display and the iPhone 12 Pro Max features a 6.7-inch, edge to edge Super Retina XDR display.

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra offers a 120Hz display with a resolution of 1440 x 3088 pixels. On the other hand, the iPhone 12 Pro Max has a 60hz refresh rate with a resolution of 2778 x 1284 pixels. At the same time, the iPhone 12 Pro Max has no higher refresh rate. Galaxy Note 20 Ultra’s display is sharper than the iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Processor and Storage:

Galaxy Note 20 Ultra comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ octa-core processor built on a 7-nm process for select markets. In the storage department, the device packed with 8GB/12GB of RAM and 128GB/512 GB of internal storage.

On the other hand, iPhone 12 Pro Max equips an A14 Bionic chipset which is built on a 5-nm process. This device comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB storage variants. Both of these smartphones provide superb performance.

Camera:

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra and Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max, both have a triple rear camera setup including an ultra-wide camera, wide-angle camera, and a telephoto camera.

The difference in megapixels of the camera of both phones is not declaring the camera quality. It’s too early to say which one has the better camera, but one thing is for sure that they’ll be neck to neck. However, Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra has an edge over iPhone 12 Pro Max in terms of quality and zooming capability.

Battery life:

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra: 4500mAh

Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max: 3687mAh

Galaxy Note 20 Ultra’s battery is sufficient for daily use. While the battery capacity of the iPhone 12 Pro Max is 3687mAh. There’s a big difference in the battery capacity of both phones. With the battery size, Galaxy Note 20 Ultra can power you longer than the top model of the iPhone 12.

Also, Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra users will get a fast charger within the retail box, while iPhone 12 Pro Max users will have to buy it separately.
