Galaxy S20 gets Google Play protect certificate after latest One UI 3.0 beta, stable coming soon

Samsung is planning to release the stable version of its next Android 11 based custom skin, One UI 3.0. Currently, the company is rolling out the beta builds of the One UI 3.0 for the select flagship devices.

The beta updates are also out for the Galaxy S20 series. This update brings the Google Play Protect certification or CTS to the device which was not expected. Usually, the beta testing phase does not provide this certification but Samsung has provided it with the beta of One UI 3.0.

This information was shared by a user on Reddit. The S20 user shared a screenshot after updating to One UI 3.0 beta. The screenshot clearly shows that the Play Protect certification with a tag that says ‘Device is protected’.

It means that the S20 users can now install and use the financial and banking apps on their devices.

The addition of the CTS or Google Play Protect also hints that the stable release of the One UI 3.0 could hit the Galaxy devices any time. Although the company has not announced the official release date for the update. But it is expected that the Galaxy S20 users could be the first smartphone to receive stable One UI 3.0.
