In February 2020, at the Unpacked event, Samsung added three new flagship smartphones in its Galaxy S-series, Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra as a successor to the Galaxy S10 series. Just recently, the company has announced the Galaxy S20 FE in September 2020 as a less expensive version with the same chipsets.

Samsung Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra were launched with pre-packed One UI 2.1 based on Android 10 and currently running on the One UI 2.5 while the Galaxy S20 FE comes packed with One UI 2.5 out of the box. All four devices are on the list of getting major OS upgrades up to Android 13.

September 2021 Security Patch

Samsung is now releasing the September 2021 security patch update to the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+ and Galaxy S20 Ultra devices in Europe. You can check the software version numbers below.

Samsung November 2024 update plan

Samsung continues to prioritize security and privacy for Galaxy users. Today, the company has shared its November 2024 security update plan, showing which Samsung Galaxy devices will get monthly and quarterly software updates. They also released details about the November 2024 security patch.

The Korean tech giant provides different types of update plans, including monthly, quarterly, and biannual. These updates address both Android system vulnerabilities and Samsung-specific issues to keep devices protected.

November 2024 update plan shows that 36 Galaxy devices will receive Monthly Security Updates to protect them from the newest security threats. 78 devices will get Quarterly Security Updates, which happen every few months with important fixes.

Additionally, 29 devices will get Biannual Security Updates. Though these updates are less frequent, they still ensure that older devices remain secure and up to date.

Samsung has started rolling out the November 2024 security update, beginning with the Galaxy Tab S7 FE, and plans to expand it to other Galaxy devices soon. As of November 5th, 2024, Samsung has released the details of the latest security patch for its Galaxy devices on the Scope Page.

November 2024 security update brings patches from both Google and Samsung, addressing 52 vulnerabilities and exposures in the Android operating system and Samsung’s software.

Of these, 38 issues are considered high-level by Google, while one CVE doesn’t apply to Galaxy devices. Additionally, Samsung has patched 13 issues mainly related to multiple user profiles, Dex Mode, Galaxy Watch, Settings, and Maintenance Mode. These updates aim to make your Galaxy devices work better and more securely.

Samsung’s Galaxy AI Notifications could make iOS 18.1’s Notification Summary feel outdated. The company is expected to bring a brand new feature with One UI 7. The addition will redefine how you interact with ongoing notifications.

Tipster ChunBhai revealed Galaxy AI Notifications feature will support a handful of languages other than English. Apple Intelligence’s Notification Summary is currently supported in English only, with support will be expanded sequentially.

The rumor suggests Samsung’s AI Notifications could be supported in English, Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai, Japanese, and French. This way, Galaxy users will have a far better experience as compared to its Apple Intelligence counterpart.

Meanwhile, Samsung hasn’t teased such an AI-powered feature for Galaxy devices. We are only getting key inputs in the form of leaks and rumors. However, the input is coming out from a credible source whose many leaks have proven true.

Samsung’s Galaxy AI already supports over a dozen languages. The company is regularly working on the expansion of supported languages and dialects. The recent rollout of Dutch will be followed by three more languages by the end of the year.

Apple also lags behind in terms of AI feature availability on iPhone models. Apple Intelligence is only available on iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 lineups. Other models are out from the race due to, citing hardware limitations.

On the flip side, Samsung is bringing select AI features to Galaxy A (mid-range) smartphones. Full-fledged Galaxy AI experience is available on flagship models as old as released in 2022, with more epic experiences on the way.
