[UPDATE: Rolling out in India] Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus receiving November 2020 security update

Samsung is now rolling out the November 2020 security update for the Galaxy S9 and S9+ devices in India. It brings the latest security patch to improve the security of your Galaxy S9 devices.

To check for the update manually on your Galaxy device:

• Go to settings
• Software Updates
• Then click Download and install

Samsung has already started sending the latest November Security patch before the start of this month. The Galaxy Z Fold 2 becoming the first device to get this update at the end of October, followed by Galaxy Xcover Pro and A2 Core.

The company is now rolling out the November security update to its Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus devices. This new firmware comes with the software versions G960FXXSCFTJ3 and G965FXXSCFTJ3 for Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus respectively.

This update installs the latest November security patch for improved security and device stability. Till now the company has not published its security bulletin for this month but we can expect in the coming days.

Currently, the latest OTA for Galaxy S9 devices is available in Germany and will soon expand to other countries. Other than the security improvements this update does not bring any new features for the devices.

To check for the update manually, go to Settings > Software Update > then tap on Download and install.

Other updates

The Galaxy S9 is a flagship lineup that was launched with pre-installed Android 8 Oreo-based Samsung Experience 9.0 and since then these devices have received two major Android updates. These smartphones are currently running on the latest Android 10 with One UI 2.5. They are currently listed for receiving monthly security updates.

These devices were launched with some high-end features such as a curved edge display, powerful Exynos 9810 processor, Quad HD+ super AMOLED curved edge-to-edge display, and in many interesting colors.
