Samsung launched its first Clampshell design foldable phone, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip that folds vertically and it was introduced alongside the Galaxy S20 lineup. Now the company is also planning for its next-generation that could possibly be the Galaxy Z Flip 2.

A previous report suggested that the company may not launch the successor of this Galaxy Flip with the Galaxy S21 series like the last year. Instead of launching alongside, Galaxy S21, the Galaxy Z Flip 2 likely will select a launch date somewhere in the first half of 2021.

According to the latest news, this smartphone may feature a 120 Hz display refresh rate. Many of the flagship Galaxy devices already come with a 120Hz display and the Galaxy Fold 2 has its main display with 120Hz. This functionality will now also be available on next-generation Galaxy Flip devices.

In addition, as per the reports, Samsung has planned to launch the Galaxy S21 earlier than its usual launch dates. The company has already started the mass production of the line-up and could unveil it as early as January.
