Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 gets new update, brings improvements for GPS and voice guidance
Samsung is now rolling out a new firmware update for the Galaxy Watch Active 2 in the US. The latest update comes with some new features, function improvements as well as stability and reliability enhancements.
According to the information, this new update for the Galaxy Watch Active 2 identified with build version R825USQU1BTJ6 and package size of 45.42MB. With continuous software updates, Samsung is gaining the performance of this smart wearable.
The official changelog mentions that this software update for the Galaxy Watch Active 2 brings improvements to the accuracy of the performance of GPS, connection, and voice guidance provided via a headset connected to the mobile when exercising wearing the smartwatch.

Adding to this, the new update increases the voice guidance tips for traveled distance and HR data, when the Auto Lap feature is enabled during Running/Cycling. The stability of the system and reliability have also been enhanced.
What’s new in this update:
- Improved GPS accuracy and connection
- Voice guidance provided via headset connected to mobile when exercising with a watch.
- Voice guidance provided for traveled distance and HR data, when Auto Lap feature is enabled during Running/Cycling.
- Improved system stability and reliability
Last month, the Galaxy Watch Active 2 has received a voice guidance support feature that provides helpful tips to you when you are doing exercise. Moreover, voice guidance is also added for the expanded distance and heart rate when you are running or your biking activity. When the Always-on-Display function has been set, the second hand will not be displayed.
Furthermore, aside from its massive features, there’s a serious issue with the Galaxy Watch Active 2. This smart wearable reportedly pauses during workouts and won’t reactivate.
Following its launch in August last year, users of this smartwatch reported an issue regarding the workout feature. Once they started a workout mode and take a break by pausing the workout, the watch simply doesn’t resume it. Instead, it shows the music player widget and keeps showing it.
Even, if the button is pressed accidentally, the watch stops tracking the exercise. It randomly prompts users to open music or starts the Samsung Pay service. Following this occurrence, Samsung rolled out incremental firmware updates for this smartwatch and it claimed to solve this bug.
