Exynos 1080 can bring better performance than Snapdragon 865, claims tipster

A few weeks ago, Samsung has officially announced its first 5nm based Exynos 1080 chipset at an event in China. This new 5nm process technology packs impressive capabilities for a more enhanced user experience. And now, a tipster shared the scores of the Exynos 1080 and Snapdragon 865.

According to DigitalChatStation, Samsung’s Exynos 1080 powered smartphone has a CPU score of nearly 190,000 and a GPU score of 220,000. While Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 powered device has got a CPU score of around 180,000 and a GPU score of 220,000.

Moreover, Exynos 1080 has an actual running score of 620,000. These results hint that the performance of the Exynos 1080 chipset is one step ahead of the Snapdragon 865 SoC. As reported, the Exynos 1080 will come installed with the upcoming smartphone of Chinese smartphone maker – Vivo.

Samsung Exynos 1080’s octa-core CPU consists of one Arm Cortex-A78 core optimized for peak performance, three Cortex-A78 cores for balanced processing, and four Cortex-A55 cores for efficiency. It built with ARM’s second-generation Valhall architecture-based Mali-G78 GPU which reduces loading time and lagging.

Adding to this, it supports up to 144Hz refresh rate in Full HD+ for a highly smooth and interactive touch response. The Exynos 1080 places cinematic viewing experiences by combining support for both high refresh rates and HDR10+.

Compatibility with HDR10+, an advanced dynamic range technology, widens the range of what’s visible in content by dynamically optimizing brightness settings to enhance colors and contours in each scene.
