Samsung aims for a thinner and lighter foldable smartphone in 2021

The foldable smartphones are the newest invention in the smartphone market that offers both a compact design and a bigger display on a single device. It provides users with more space on the screen for easy multitasking and to be more productive.

According to the latest news Samsung has announced in the recently held 2020 Investor forum that the company will release thinner and lighter foldable smartphones in the coming days.

At the forum, Jongmin Lee, the executive director of the planning team at Samsung Electronics presented some of the stats about the Galaxy Z Fold smartphone as per the consumer’s point of view.

Managing Director Lee explained that the users mainly purchase the foldable smartphone because of their large screen and easy to carry design and 93% of users said that they were satisfied with the size.

By launching these smartphones in a light and thin design, these phablets will become easier to carry and more convenient to use. Samsung is also rumored to use new technologies in the development of the next generation Galaxy Z Fold 3 smartphone such as Ultra-Thin Glass (UTG) and Under Display Camera.

The current Galaxy Z Fold 2 weighs 282g and the previous Galaxy Z Fold released last year was last year has a weight of 276g. As compared to the weight of Galaxy Note 20 Ultra of 208g, the Galaxy Z Fold 2 is a bit heavier. This is considered as the foldable devices have many additional parts for their functioning.
