Samsung Galaxy S20 FE gets December 2020 security update without touchscreen fixes

Samsung’s affordable flagship, the Galaxy S20 FE is now receiving a new update with security improvements. This latest firmware bearing build version G781BXXS1ATL1 installs the latest December 2020 security patch for improved system security and device stability to provide a better user experience.

Although, as of now Samsung has not released the security bulletin for the month of December and we expect it in a few days. Apart from the December 2020 security patch, this new update does not add any new features and also does not fixes the touchscreen issues of the Galaxy S20 FE devices.

These latest security optimizations for the Galaxy S20 FE are currently rolling out in several European countries including Germany and should soon expand to the other regions.

What about One UI 3.0/Android 11 update for Galaxy S20 FE

Samsung has just recently started the One UI 3.0 beta program for the Galaxy S20 FE. The users will now be able to experience the features of the One UI 3.0 on these smartphones in South Korea. The One UI beta build will also be available for the Galaxy S20 FE smartphones in the other eligible countries such as the US, Germany, Poland, and India.

Besides this, Samsung is also working on the stable version of the upcoming Android 11 based One UI 3.0 update and just recently we saw the official roadmap of the Android 11 update for the eligible Galaxy devices.

To check for the updates manually on your Galaxy devices:

  • Scroll down the notification panel and tap on the Settings icon
  • Choose the Software Updates option
  • Then tap on Download and install
