New firmware brings lock screen improvements to Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 [Verizon]

Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 and S7+ have recently started receiving the December 2020 security patch globally. Now, one of the top network carriers in the US, Verizon has begun sending the latest security patch for these tablets.

It can be identified via build versions: T878USQS1ATK4 and T978USQS1ATK4 for the Galaxy Tab S7 and S7+ respectively. This firmware installs the newer Android patches for better device security.

Other than the December 2020 security patch, the latest software update for these tablets also brings lock screen performance improvements for a better user experience.

Check for updates manually:

  • Here’s how to check for the latest update
    • From the Home screen, tap the Menu Key > Settings > About phone > Software updates > Check for Updates.
  • If your device finds a new software update
    • Tap Download now
  • When complete, a screen will appear advising you that the new version of the software is ready to be installed.
    • Tap Install update.
  • The device will power down and power back on. A screen will appear stating that the installation has been completed.
    • Tap OK.
