New firmware update rolling out for Samsung Galaxy S20 [Verizon]

Verizon bounded Galaxy S20 models are the first devices from Samsung that have got the stable Android 11 based One UI 3.0 firmware update. Following its release, the company has also started sending this major update to the unlocked variants globally.

According to the latest information, Verizon is now rolling out a new software update to Samsung Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra in the US. The carrier has provided November 2020’s security patch along with the Android 11 upgrade. Meanwhile, the new update comes with the One UI security patches released in December 2020.

The latest security patch brings system security improvements for better protection. It also enhances system features as well as fixes some bugs for increased user experience.

Software Versions:

  • G981VSQU1CTL4 – Samsung Galaxy S20 5G UW
  • G986USQU1CTL4 – Samsung Galaxy S20+ 5G
  • G988USQU1CTL4 – Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G

Verizon branded Samsung Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra have also started getting the Android 11 firmware update in the US. It is expected that the carrier will soon start providing the One UI 3.0 software update for the older flagship devices of Samsung such as the Galaxy S10 and Note 10 series.

  • December 2020 security update is now ready to install on your Samsung Galaxy S20, S20+, or S20 Ultra.
    • Open Device Settings
    • Find the Software updates option
    • Tap on Download and install button.
