Samsung extends LCD panel production due to rising demand of home appliances

According to the info, Samsung Display announced that it will extend the production of liquid crystal display (LCD) panels for TVs and monitors in South Korea. The company took this decision due to the rising demand for home appliances because of the Coving-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, this move replaces Samsung Display’s plan of March to suspend production of LCD panels before the end of this year to focus on more advanced display technologies.

The extended period will depend on market conditions and it is predicted that at the end of October that it was considering a “short-term” extension of LCD production.

The Korean media also reported that Samsung Electronics’ complete manufacturing department has requested the display department to extend LCD panel production for one year.
