Vivo V60 becomes the first smartphones powered by Samsung Exynos 1080 chipset

On November 12, Samsung has officially introduced its latest Exynos 1080 SoC at an event in China. This new chipset is based on 5nm process technology that packs great capabilities for enhanced user experience.

It is based on tri-cluster architecture, the CPU of the processor consists of four Arm Cortex-A78 cores and four Cortex-A55 cores for efficiency and multitasking.

At its launch period, we’ve informed that this processor will make its debut with Vivo smartphones in the coming weeks. According to the official info, Vivo launched the Exynos 1080 powered Vivo X60, and Vivo X60 Pro in China.

Its CPU and GUP use the latest generation of ARM’s Cortex-A78 and Mali-G78 combination, and its performance has been significantly improved. Its Cortex-A78 and Cortex-A77 have 20% higher performance than A77 under the same power consumption.

Furthermore, A78 saves 50% of energy consumption than A77 and Mali-G78 GPU brings 25% higher performance than Mali-G77. Samsung Exynos 1080 integrates the latest ARM Cortex-A78 core with a maximum frequency of 2.8GHz and the high-performance Cortex-A55 core into its three-cluster CPU system.
