Back in January 2021, Samsung launched its latest flagship chipset – Exynos 2100 which is equipped with the Galaxy S21 series smartphones. At the event, the company stated that it is cooperating with AMD to develop the next-generation flagship processor.

Now, as per the latest info, the South Korean tech giant is preparing to introduce Windows 10 laptops equipped with Exynos processors and AMD graphics cards. To compete with Snapdragon chips, the company may launch Exynos-powered laptops in the second half of this year.

However, Exynos is an ARM-based processor, so the upcoming PC will run on Windows 10 ARM operating system. Previously, the company unveiled Windows 10 PCs based on the ARM platform such as the Galaxy Book S and Galaxy Book 2, but these computers are equipped with Qualcomm processors.

Moreover, the upcoming laptops from Samsung are expected to be equipped with the Exynos 2200 chipset that will be the successor to the Exynos 2100. The Exynos 2100 is Samsung’s first integrated 5G mobile chipset which is based on a 5nm EUV process.

Compared to the previous generation’s 7nm chip, the 5nm-based Exynos 2100 improves overall performance by 10% and reduces power consumption by 20%. It uses a tri-cluster structure including a 2.9GHz ARM Cortex-X1 super core, three Cortex-A78 cores, and four Cortex-A55 cores.
