Samsung Galaxy S20 One UI 3.1 update now rolling out in the US

Samsung started to roll out the One UI 3.1 features for the older Galaxy flagship devices such as Galaxy S20, Note 20, Z Fold 2, and Z Flip. Now, the company is expanding this firmware update for the Galaxy S20 users in the US. Identified via firmware version DUB7, the update also installs the March 2021 security patch for better device protection.

  1. G981U1UEU1DUB7 – Samsung Galaxy S20 5G
  2. G986U1UEU1DUB7 – Samsung Galaxy S20+ 5G
  3. G988U1UEU1DUB7 – Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G

This software update for the Galaxy S20 series lets users shoot dynamic photos and videos with new smart camera features including improved Single Take, touch autofocus, autoexposure controller, Object eraser tool, and Multi Mic Recording.

Moreover, you are no longer needed to install the Google Messages app to experience the RCS chat features. With the One UI 3.1, RCS features are integrated with the Samsung messaging app that allows you to do chat over mobile data and Wi-Fi, receive and send high-resolution photos and videos, create feature-rich group chats, and receive read receipts.

Apart from this, after updating your Galaxy S20 with the One UI 3.1, you can use the Eye Comfort Shield feature that automatically adjusts the blue light based on the time of day. Moreover, users can now remove the GPS data that reveals the location of photos before you share them.

HOW TO CHECK FOR UPDATES MANUALLY:

  • From a Home screen, touch and swipe up or down to display all apps
    • Tap Settings > System updates > Check for system updates.
  • If your device finds a new software update:
    • Tap Download now.
  • When complete, a screen will appear advising you that the new version of software is ready to be installed.
    • Tap Install update.
