Verizon releases March 2021 security update for Samsung Galaxy S21

On January 14, 2021, Samsung launched its latest flagship devices under the Galaxy S series. The Galaxy S21 lineup consists of three premium devices called – Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra. These devices come pre-installed with the Android 11-based One UI 3.1 version. Later on, the company has also delivered the February 2021 security patch in order to enhance system security.

Now, as per the latest info, Verizon started releasing a new firmware update for the Galaxy S21 series in the US. The latest update installs the March 2021 security patch that increases the security of the OS as well as the system. Apart from this, the new software also brings enhancements to various functions of these handsets for a better overall user experience.

  • The current software update provides performance improvements and the most up to date Android security patches on your device.

The S21 users can identify this update with release numbers: G998USQU1AUB3, G996USQU1AUB3, and G991USQU1AUB3 for the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G, S21+ 5G, and S21 5G respectively. Since it’s an initial rollout, the carrier may expand the reach of this new security patch in the coming hours/days. Meanwhile, you can also check for the update manually by heading to your device Settings >> Software updates >> Download and install.
