Qualcomm is one of the top chipset makers around the world. The processors made by the company use the latest fabrication process to deliver best-in-class performance. Currently, Snapdragon 888 is the latest flagship SoC offering from Qualcomm that is also debuted with Samsung Galaxy S21 series.

However, Qualcomm developed its premium chipsets with the help of TSMC’s (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company) fabrication process during 2019-2020. While the Snapdragon 888 is built on Samsung’s 5nm EUV based process technology. So it is expected that the American chipset maker will also follow the same strategy for its next flagship product.

On the other hand, it was said that Qualcomm might switch back to TSMC for its next-generation flagship processor. Meanwhile, a reliable source claimed that Qualcomm already has the successor of the Snapdragon 888 (SM8450) is in the works codenamed Waipio and it will be developed by Samsung. And it is still unconfirmed whether it will use the same 5nm LPE process or any other.

Following its habit, the US chipmaker may launch the latest mobile processor later this year and it may be the Snapdragon 888 Pro or Snapdragon 888 Plus (SM8350 Pro). This new chipset is also expected to be manufactured by the South Korean tech firm.

Apart from this, Samsung has already developed 5G modems for Qualcomm including Snapdragon X62 and Snapdragon X65 which are based on a 4nm process. And the upcoming processor from Qualcomm is expected to bring more power efficiency and improvements compared to the previous generations.
