Samsung Galaxy M42 to become the first M series phone having 5G connectivity

Samsung has recently launched the Galaxy A32 as its most affordable 5G smartphone to date. Moving forward, the company is going to introduce two new devices under its Galaxy A lineup and one of them will have both 4G and 5G variants. Furthermore, new info reveals that Samsung is working on another 5G smartphone.

According to the latest information, the South Korean tech giant is working on a new M series handset that will become the first in this lineup having 5G connectivity support. However, an unreleased Samsung device having model number SM-M426B recently approved by the Wi-Fi Alliance certification. And, as per the naming strategy, it will be called the Galaxy M42 5G.

Along with this, the Bluetooth certification suggests that the upcoming Galaxy M42 5G will be a rebadged version of the previously launched Galaxy A42 5G. It is worth mentioning that the Korean phone maker has recently announced that it will be launching the Galaxy A42 5G in its home country on March 12, 2021. So, we can expect that Samsung will expand the availability of this handset in other markets too as a renamed M series smartphone.

As we know, the Galaxy A42 5G sports a 6.6″ Infinity-U display to deliver users a more immersive gaming and video streaming experience. On the back, it has a quad-camera setup consisting of a 48-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, a 5-megapixel depth lens, and a 5-megapixel macro sensor. For selfies, it features a 20-megapixel camera on the front.

Under the hood, it equips Snapdragon 750G/MediaTek Helio P65 octa-core processor as it already unveiled in some markets. However, the company has not yet confirmed the chipset of the Korean variant. Moreover, the storage options of the Galaxy A42 still unconfirmed, we’ve to wait for its official launch.

Apart from this, Samsung confirmed the Galaxy A42 5G equipped with a 5,000mAh large-capacity battery and can be recharged with a 15W fast charger. It will be available in three unique color options including Prism Dot Black, Prism Dot White, and Prism Dot Gray.
