Samsung to reclaim the top spot of global smartphone market in Q1 2021

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, affected countries implemented nationwide lockdown for several months last year. As expected already, the markets have faced major decline in the economy because of no sales of products during the lockdown period. In the smartphone market, OEMs like Samsung, Apple, Xiaomi, etc. have also encountered huge declines in their market shares.

However, the fourth quarter of last year was significant results for Samsung as it sold around 67 million units but lost its crown to Apple. Meanwhile, Samsung’s quarterly smartphone production is expected to reach around 62 million units that can help it to reclaim its top spot in the first quarter of this year, reports TrendForce.

Moreover, the report also suggests, Samsung is preparing to gain its lost market share by launching several Galaxy devices under its A series such as the Galaxy A52, Galaxy A72, Galaxy A82, and more. In some regions, Chinese phone makers have captured a small amount of Samsung’s market share by straying innocent consumers for cheap smartphones calling them flagship killer.

Moreover, Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Note 21, Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 as well as Galaxy Watch 3/Watch Active 3 in 2021. Though, we can also assume that the company is fully gear up to not only surpass Apple, but also for the reclaim its declined market share from the Chinese OEMs.
