Snapdragon 780G SoC reportedly built on Samsung 5nm process technology
Previously, Qualcomm worked with TSMC to make its flagship chipsets like Snapdragon 855. But in recent times we saw that the company collaborated with Samsung to develop its high-end chipsets such as Snapdragon 865 and the latest Snapdragon 888.
Now, the American chipset maker again partnered with the Korean OEM to develop its new mid-range Snapdragon 780G processor. Moreover, the report suggests that it is manufactured on Samsung’s 5nm process technology to deliver the best performance as well as less power consumption while doing heavy tasks on the phone.
The new chipset features two heavy-duty CPU cores (Cortex-A78-based) clocked at 2.4GHz and six power-efficient CPU cores (Cortex-A55-based) clocked at 1.8GHz. That’s why it could be the best midrange-chipset offered by the company to date.
Apart from this, it equips Adreno 642 GPU supporting 10-bit HDR gaming on a high refresh rate display giving smoother gameplay. Moreover, it also has Qualcomm’s own X53 modem to handle network reception.
Besides, the Snapdragon 780G offers all the latest connectivity options including Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 for sharing media wirelessly.
Last but not least, the new Qualcomm chipset packed with all the camera capabilities including 4K HDR10+ video recording, Spectra 570 ISP for rendering many feeds at the same time, and other AI enhancements.
