Samsung Electronics VC (Vice-Chairman) Jay Y. Lee has been jailed at the Seoul Detention Center since January for a 30 months sentence because of bribery and other charges.

Recently, he undergrew surgery on Friday for a burst appendix. However, his hospitalization and surgery got delayed that lead to the removal of the part of his intestine, reports South Korean media.

Although the surgery went well, due to some complications he had suffered from a high fever that eventually postponed the trial hearing to April 22.

Previously, Lee had actively provided bribes to the former President to use his powers in order to get unethical business succession and favors.

For that, Samsung VC has spent the punishment in jail from 2017-2018, but according to the case details, he needs to serve 18 months more to complete the remaining trial for the bribery case.
