Verizon’s Samsung Galaxy Note 9 getting March 2021 security update

A few days ago, Samsung released a new software update for the Galaxy Note 9 users, which brings system security improvements. Later on, the unlocked Note 9 models have also received the same firmware update in the United States.

According to the info, Verizon begins improving the security of Samsung Galaxy Note 9 phones by installing the latest Android and One UI patches released in March 2021. Users can identify this update via the build version N960USQS8FUC2.

As per the changelog, the new Galaxy Note 9 firmware only enhances the security and doesn’t bring any new feature or major system optimization. Below, you can check the changelog of this update.

• The current software update provides the most up to date Android security patches on your device.

Since it’s an initial rollout, so it may take some time to cover more Galaxy Note 9 units in the US. Till then, you can check for the update manually by navigating to your device Settings, scroll down and select the Software updates category and hit the Download and install button.

However, the Galaxy Note 9 users are not eligible to receive the Android 11-based One UI 3.0 update because they’ve already got two Android OS upgrades and completed their major update lifecycle.
