Samsung launched next-gen ERP to fully support future business opportunities

On April 5, 2021, Samsung announced that the company is going to implement a new system called N-ERP (Next-Generation – Enterprise Resource Planning) in Southeast Asia, Southwest Asia, and China. This new system will replace the current G-ERP way for handling the global operation throughout manufacturing sites and sales offices worldwide.

According to the officials, the new N-ERP is a combination of both IT and manpower, which will definitely lead to expanding the business workings globally. Alongside, manufacturing and sales will also be improved with this new mode of handling business operations.

“To fully support rapidly growing future business opportunities, Samsung has enhanced the IT system to be more flexible and widely applicable,” said Seongwoo Moon, Senior Vice President and Head of Corporate Business Innovation Center, Samsung Electronics.

Technical Aspects of the N-ERP System

With this new system, the Korean tech giant sets a vision to adequately develop and innovate future business based on D2C (Direct to Consumer) structure. However, it will use various software aspects to manage the company’s huge data via Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). In addition, the company established the system based on an in-memory database to enhance the speed of data processing and analysis.

To complement this next-gen system, the company also improved the flexibility of the system architecture by adopting open API to set a fast and reliable connection for the company’s outside business. Besides, with the help of cloud storage, the company also decreasing the heavy load of solid-state data abstaining slows down online business works.

Lastly, Samsung implementing this system in the home ground, as well as in its nearer regions, but the officials hinted that the company will expand the N-ERP system in phases to reach complete global implementation by January next year.
