Samsung Odyssey G9 monitor alleged retailer listing reveals various premium features
Back in 2020, Samsung launched the world’s first monitor that supports HDR10+ called Odyssey G9. It comes with a 49-inch curved QLED panel with a resolution of 5120×1440 and an aspect ratio of 32:9 as well as its curvature is 1000R.
Besides, it also features a high refresh rate of 240Hz, a response time of 1ms, and a peak brightness of 1000nits. The display of this monitor covers 95% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, compatible with NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, and priced at 1.9 million won.
Moving forward, last month, Samsung announced that it will launch a new Odyssey G9 display, without revealing any details. And recently, a Chinese retailer – Taobao store has leaked the detailed configuration of the display.
According to the information, the new Odyssey G9 display has not been changed in most places. The biggest highlight is that it has 2048 local dimming zones, the contrast has been increased to 4000:1, and the peak brightness has reached 2000nits as well as VESA DisplayHDR 2000 certification.
However, the highest VESA DisplayHDR certification is currently DisplayHDR 1400 certification. If the product information is true, then the new Odyssey G9 monitor is expected to become the first VESA DisplayHDR 2000 certified display.
Apart from this, the product page also revealed that the Samsung Odyssey G9 monitor is priced at 29,999 yuan, while the price of the previous generation is about 11,000 yuan.
