Revian, which is a US-based automaker and automotive technology company recently announced that Samsung SDI would supply battery cells for its vehicles, reports Reuters.

The US automaker said that it has been cooperating with Samsung during the entire process of developing the battery cell to produce electric pickup trucks and SUVs this year.

RJ Scaringe, chief executive officer of Rivian said:

“We’re excited about the performance and reliability of Samsung SDI battery cells combined with our energy-dense module and pack design.”

Since its start in the auto field in 2019, Rivian has raised $8 billion and also added $2.65 billion funding in an investment round led by T. Rowe Price in January.

Earlier this year, Bloomberg reported that Tesla’s competitors have been negotiating with bankers about their listing plan and preparing to conduct an initial public offering (IPO) in September to bring their valuation to or more than 50 billion US dollars.
