After years of facing criticism, Samsung has amazed every smartphone maker in terms of providing the major Android 11 update to numerous Galaxy models including premium and mid-rangers, plus budgets too.

The South Korean tech giant not only improved its major software development system but also grown the monthly security patch terms. Therefore, the Galaxy devices launched since 2019 will now get at least four years for regular security updates.

Meanwhile, Samsung and Verizon are now rolling out a new s/w update to the Galaxy S20 FE smartphones in the United States. This new firmware carries a PDA release version G781VSQU2DUD2 and installs the April 2021 security patch.

Installing newer security patches is necessary as they increase the system security of the devices. However, this month’s security patch brings fixes for 21 CVEs from Samsung, 30 severe exploits from Google, and additional improvements from the carrier.

What’s changing:

  • The current software update provides performance improvements and the most up to date Android security patches on your device.

As per the update log, this firmware doesn’t bring any new features of system optimizations. While it enhances the system functions and stock applications for a better user experience. To check for this s/w update manually, just open your device Settings >> Software updates >> Download and install.
