Samsung Galaxy A31 getting Android 11-based One UI 3.1 update alongside April 2021 security patch

Last year, Samsung launched its new budget smartphone under the popular A lineup – Galaxy A31. The company shipped this device with the Android 10-based One UI 2.1 and later it upgraded to the 2.5 version of the One UI.

According to the new info, the South Korean tech giant started sending a major s/w update, which brings a number of huge system improvements as well as a number of new features as it is the Android 11-based One UI 3.1 update.

Identified via release number: CUD3, the Android 11 update for Galaxy A31 smartphone users is currently spreading the Korean market, which is expected to cross the boundaries anytime.

Alongside the One UI 3.1 features, Samsung has also included the latest April 2021 security patch with this FOTA, which increases the system security by bringing fixes for 21 CVEs from Samsung and 30 severe threats from Google.

Aside from the One UI 3.1 features, this new Galaxy A31 firmware update also implements all the user interface changes of the One UI 3.0 including a redesigned Home screen, Quick panel, App drawer, Lock screen, and Settings menu. [One UI 3.0 Changelog]

At the Galaxy Unpacked 2021, Samsung introduced the One UI 3.1 alongside the Galaxy S21 series. This version brings many helpful features such as Eye Comfort Shield, Object Eraser, Private Share, Samsung Free, Google Duo integration with stock dialer app, buds Auto Switching, ability to remove location data before sharing, and more.
