For those who are unaware what is SmartThings, it is one of the popular Samsung apps, used to connect and control smart devices as well as home appliances. This smart app supports various devices including speakers, TVs, AC, refrigerator, and more, which you can manage with a single tap.

Now to improve productivity, Samsung announced a new update that allows user to find their SmartTags hands-free, using voice commands. These new controls will be possible using the Bixby.

For example, if you want to know the location of the object which your SmartTag is tracking, you can ask for that uisng the Bixby voice assistance. However, you simply need to call it via “Hi Bixby”.

Moving on, the latest update also addresses security and privacy issues related to unknown SmartTags tracking. For that users will soon be able to scan for Galaxy SmartTags that aren’t their own but follow the same movement patterns as they do. In a simpler way, user can manage the location tracking of SmartTags.

Availability

The latest SmartThings update will be available starting next week. However, we don’t know the exact details of the rollout but it is quite sure that it will reach all the markets as soon as possible. Besides, when the update reached your region you can simply update SmartThings via the Play Store or Samsung Galaxy Store.
