Details of the ‘Diamond OLED’  trademark Patent

On April 19, 2021, Samsung Display filed the ‘Diamond OLED’ Trademark patent in the UK Intellectual Property Office, which shows that the application is categorized as Class 9.

Meanwhile, the details of this new patent are quite descriptive to understand but it is expected that this new panel will surely be used in electronics products such as TVs and Monitors.

However, some previous reports claimed that this newly patented screen is surely be used as a smartphone panel because the name ‘Diamond’ was often used in the past.

For example in 2013, Samsung used the ‘Diamond Pixel’ term for describing the display pixels of the Galaxy S4. Therefore, it can be assumed that this new development could also be used as a smartphone display in the future.
