After weeks of leaks and rumors, Samsung has finally introduced its new M series smartphone in India. The new Galaxy M42 offers 5G connectivity support at affordable pricing. It is worth mentioning that the company launched it as a rebranded version of the Galaxy A42 5G, which was unveiled last year in select countries.

Surprisingly, the South Korean tech giant priced the Galaxy M42 5G at just INR 21,999, which makes it the most affordable 5G offering from the brand. It will be available for pre-order through Amazon.in from May 1, 2021. However, the company is also offering a cashback of INR 2,000 (around $27) while purchasing via HDFC Bank credit and debit cards.

Samsung Galaxy M42 5G comes with a 6.6″ Infinity-U sAMOLED display with HD+ resolution. For biometric authentication, it features an in-display fingerprint sensor. Under the hood, it equips Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 750G processor supported by 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.

Talking about optics, the Galaxy M42 5G has a quad-rear camera setup in a squarish-shaped design. The camera specs include a 48MP primary lens, 8MP ultrawide camera, a 5MP depth camera, and a 5MP macro camera, plus it has a 20MP camera on the front for selfies. Furthermore, it can record 4K 30fps videos using both rear and front cameras.

Additional specs include GPS, Wi-Fi b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C port, dual sim port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It packs a large 5,000mAh battery with up to 15W fast charging support. Just like premium phones, the Galaxy M42 also features Samsung Knox security, Samsung Pay and Secure Folder. Lastly, it will be available in two color options: Prism Dot Black and Prism Dot Grey.
