Samsung’s under-display camera (UPC) smartphone is not too away!
Starting with smartphones having thicker bezels around the display, to a punch-hole cutout, the phone makers impressively developed new technologies in order to offer an extreme full view screen experience. As the innovation and people’s expectation never ends, the industry is continuously making efforts to bring more advanced phones.
In a recent development, Samsung Display announced that it will introduce a handful of new and futuristic display techs at the SID 2021, which will truly change users’ experience, and debut with future smartphones, laptops, etc. According to official info, the company will launch S-foldable, 17-inch folding OLED, Slidable, and UPC screens during the event, which starting today.
Talking about UPC, better known as Under Panel Camera, is a display technology developed by Samsung Display, which seems the same as the under-display camera tech. However, the official info suggests that the company will first use the UPC tech intro its future laptops in order to totally remove the frame outside the display.
As the South Korean tech has recently launched its new laptop lineup called the Galaxy Book Pro, it is expected that the successor will feature Under Panel Camera. The future Galaxy notebooks could come with a bezel-less full view display to take the user experience to the top level.
After that, we can surely assume that the Under Panel Camera OLEDs could soon be used in Galaxy smartphones, most probably in flagships. However, the Galaxy S21 series comes with the trending punch-hole display, but the next year’s Galaxy S22 and/or “Galaxy Note 22” will certainly deliver a full view display experience.
Apart from this, several leaks had suggested that Samsung’s next-generation folding smartphone, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will come with an under-display camera, which is expected to launch in August or September this year. If the Galaxy Z Fold 3 skips the UPC tech, then the next year’s flagship will definitely offer a hidden selfie camera.
