Samsung and Google join forces to offer enhanced Wear OS in future wearables
As of now, Samsung’s wearable devices run its own developed Tizen while others feature Google’s Wear OS, which is more popular than the Tizen. For a long time, it is rumored that the company is going to ditch the Tizen OS with its future wearables and they will run Wear OS.
And now, the South Korean tech giant has officially confirmed that the upcoming Galaxy Watches will come with Google’s Wear OS instead of Tizen, after a long break of 7 years. Surprisingly, the Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch Active 4 are likely to highlight Wear OS on the top of One UI.
During the first day of I/O, Google officially announced the collaboration of its Wear OS and Samsung’s Tizen into a combined wearable platform. As result, the enhanced Wear OS will offer an excellent experience in various terms such as apps will start faster, longer battery life, watch faces, and better third-party apps support.
After this incredible combination of Samsung and Google’ wearable platforms, users will be able to get more apps of their Galaxy watches. At the same time, the Wear OS-powered Galaxy watch will impressively work with the Android-based One UI.
It’s not confirmed, but Samsung could release the Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch Active 4 alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 in July this year!
Excited for what we're building together @Google https://t.co/CBMVnZ1OnD
