WhatsApp’ massive chat transportation feature is just around the corner!

Last month, it is reported that WhatsApp is working on a new feature that lets users transfer chat history to a different platform in order to counter the unexpected issue that occurs when the user no longer capable to restore the chat history while switching to another operating system.

If the user switches from iOS to Android, then it is not possible to get back chats from iCloud on WhatsApp for Android. At the same time, the user can’t move the chats after turning to iOS as it’s not possible to restore the backup from Google Drive to WhatsApp for iOS.

According to WhatsApp features tracker WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is developing a new feature to allow easier chat transfer between different operating systems. In contrast, users will get rid of the problem while chat transfer after switching from iOS to Android or Android to iOS.

Apart from this, the Facebook-owned company is already working on several features that are still limited to the WhatsApp Android beta testers. Moreover, WhatsApp also accomplishing the possibility to move the chat history to a different phone number.

In this matter, the source explained what could be the changes including:

  • You won’t be able to migrate your chat history at any time.
  • You could start this process only when you link a new Android phone to your WhatsApp account.
  • Media will be also migrated to the Android device.
  • You will find your chat history fully migrated, as well as media.
  • You can transfer your chat history to a different phone number: this is very useful when you are changing device and phone number, so the process to change your phone number will be automatically launched before starting to migrate your chat history.
