Latest Galaxy M30 firmware update includes April 2021 security patch

Published

Over the past couple of weeks, Samsung delivered the May 2021 Android and One UI patches to its eligible smartphones and tablets. The Galaxy S21, S20, S10, Note 20, Note 10, and several mid-range/budget phones have picked up this latest security patch, and ready to get the next security patch that will release in June 2021.

In the meantime, the company is releasing surprising software updates to its years older phones included with security improvements, bug fixes, and enhancements. Now, the Galaxy M30 smartphone users in India have started getting a new firmware update, which comes with a PDA build number of M305FDDU8CUD3.

Unlike the current trend, the Galaxy M30 update brings the April 2021 security patch along with the copy-pasted changelog of Samsung. As always, the update log shows new and / or enhanced features, system stability improvements, fixes for some unknown bugs, and further performance improvements.

To be noted, April patch included fixes for 23 CVEs from Samsung and 30 critical CVEs from Google. Meanwhile, this release doesn’t add new features or UI tweaks except for the security improvements. We are expecting that the company will expand its reach to more markets soon.

Till then, you can check for s/w updates manually by navigating to the device Settings, select Software updates, and tap on Download and install.
