[Breaking] Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018) gets Google RCS support alongside April 2021 update

This month, Samsung released a number of new and surprising software updates to a group of older Galaxy devices, most of which are 4-5 years old. Following the episode, another older Galaxy device, better known as the first Samsung smartphone having triple rear cameras, started getting a new s/w update.

According to the info, the 2018’s Galaxy A7 began receiving a new firmware update in India, which is not just a security update as it includes a massive feature. Along with the April 2021 security patch, the Galaxy A7 update comes with Google RCS support (Rich Communication Service).

Apart from this, the latest OTA brings improvements to the performance of the Camera for better imaging alongside fixes for some unknown bugs. In India, the Galaxy A7 (2018) smartphone users can identify this update via PDA build number A750FXXU5CUD3. You can also check the new update log below.

Back in April, Samsung announced that the company is working with Google since 2018 to bring Google’s Rich Communication Services (AKA RCS) support for Galaxy devices to make conversations more seamless.

Samsung Messages app with RCS allows users to do chat over mobile data and Wi-Fi, receive and send high-resolution photos and videos, create feature-rich group chats, and receive read receipts. Furthermore, this application also available on desktop for easier and seamless transition across devices.

To check for software updates manually, just open device Settings >> Software updates >> Download and install>> Install now.
