Samsung Galaxy Note 10, Note 10+ get May 2021 security update in India
Over the past few weeks, Samsung delivered this month’s security patch to a number of Galaxy devices and started preparing to release the June 2021 security patch anytime. However, the company rolls out every single s/w update in different phases, the same update takes unspecified time to reach every eligible model.
In mid-May, the Galaxy Note 10 duo had started getting the latest security patch in select European countries such as Germany and France. Moving on, the same s/w update reached the US and Canadian models yesterday. Now, it looks like the company began a broader rollout of the Galaxy Note 10 May 2021 security patch.
Spotted on Reddit, the Galaxy Note 10 update is now rolling out in one of the largest smartphone markets – India. Identified via PDA version numbers: N970FXXU7FUE3 and N975FXXU7FUE3 for the Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+ respectively. Other than the May 2021 security patch, the changelog doesn’t show any new features.
It’s worth mentioning that the previous Galaxy Note 10 update changelog showed Camera and Quick Share improvements, while the Indian firmware update doesn’t show anything like that. Meanwhile, it patches the Qualcomm 5G modem’s vulnerability, which was found a few weeks ago.
Back in February 2021, the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ had got the Android 11-based One UI 3.1 update. However, it was a major software update that included plenty of new features such as Object Eraser, Eye Comfort Shield, Google Duo integration, and Buds Auto-Switching.
Coming back to the latest development, you can check for s/w updates manually by heading towards the device Settings, select Software updates, and tap on Download and install.
