Samsung Galaxy Tab A with S Pen finally gets One UI 3.1 (Android 11) update, May 2021 patch

Released with the Android 9 Pie-based One UI 1.x out of the box, Samsung Galaxy Tab A had received the One UI 2.x update on the top of Android 10 OS last year. However the company offers two major Android upgrades, it was also listed to get another Android update in the form of Android 11.

Now, it looks like the South Korean tech giant has started fulfilling its promise as the Galaxy Tab A with S Pen is tablet is the latest to receive the stable One UI 3.1 update along with Google’s Android 11 operating system. As it’s a major s/w update, it brings a number of new features and noticeable changes to the system software.

Identified via release number P205UBU5CUE2, the new Galaxy Tab A Android 11 and One UI 3.1 update also includes the latest May 2021 security patch for better device security. Although its an initial rollout, Samsung will not take too much time to expand its availability.

As per the hefty update log, the Galaxy Tab A owners getting last year’s Android 11 operating system with several new features such as Control Panel, Bubbles, Categorized Notifications, and One UI 3.1. In addition, it also includes major system optimizations for a better user experience.

Aside from this, Samsung One UI 3.1 comes with a set of new features such as Eye Comfort Shield, Samsung Free, Object Eraser, Private Share, Buds Auto-Switching, ability to remove the location data of images before sharing, minor UI tweaks, and better system performance.

Check for the latest update manually by going to your device’s Settings, then click on Software updates, and finally hit on Download and install.
