Verizon Galaxy S10 gets May 2021 security update the same day it gets June patch in Germany
Just recently, Samsung started the June 2021 security patch distribution for the Galaxy S10 series devices in some European countries. At the same time, Verizon pushed a new software update for these phones in the US that comes with security improvements.
According to the latest information, the leading US network carrier, Verizon is now rolling out the May 2021 Android patches to Samsung’s Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+, and Galaxy S10 5G. While the OEM is significantly boosting its s/w development terms, network carriers are not doing the same.
Well, Verizon is expanding this firmware gradually and users can identify this update via PDA build numbers: G970USQU5GUE2, G973USQU5GUE2, G975USQU5GUE2, and G977UVRU6FUE2 for the Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+, and Galaxy S10 5G respectively.
Apart from the security improvements, the new Galaxy S10 series update brings enhancements to the One UI 3.1’s Quick Share for easier file sharing between Galaxy devices. However, the changelog (mentioned below) also shows some additional bug fixes and performance improvements.
If you’ve not yet received the notification to download the May 2021 security update, then you can also check for it manually by navigating to device Settings >> Software updates >> Download and install.
