Verizon’s Samsung Galaxy Note 9 gets May 2021 update, improved Quick Share

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is an older Note flagship smartphone that ships Android 8-based Samsung Experience UX out of the box. Starting Android 9 Pie and One UI 1, the company has also provided the One UI 2.5 version on top of Google’s Android 10 operating system.

While the Galaxy Note 9 owners have to spend their remaining time on the One UI version 2.5, Samsung is fulfilling its commitment by providing new security updates per month. Recently, this device had received the June 2021 security patch in Germany, and now it’s started getting a new update in the US.

According to Verizon, Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is now receiving the Android 10-based May 2021 security patch update in the US. For your information, this update carries build number: N960USQU8FUE1, and the changelog also shows system stability improvements.

Aside from this, Verizon’s confusing support page includes Quick Share improvements with the new Galaxy Note 9 software update. It’s an unexpected change as the Quick Share is a new feature that comes with Samsung One UI 3.1 and Galaxy Note 9 is not compatible with it.

What’s changing:

• This software update brings the latest security patch and enhancements to Quick Share for easily sharing files to other Android devices.

Check for updates manually by navigating to your device Settings, open the Software updates section, and finally tap on Download and install.
