Back in February, Google launched the Android 12 Developer Preview for Pixel device owner. Later on, the company announced a beta testing program for select devices from OEMs other than Google. However, Samsung is not participating in the Android 12’s beta activity before its stable release.

However, it’s already confirmed that every Samsung Galaxy device launched with Android 10 or later, is eligible to get the upcoming Android 12 update. Meanwhile, there’s confusion regarding the eligibility for this major upgrade among the owners of older Galaxy flagships such as the Galaxy S10 series.

Will my Galaxy S10 get the Android 12 update?

Launched back in 2019, the Galaxy S10 is one of the most selling smartphone lineups from Samsung. The S10 series includes different models including the Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+, and Galaxy S10 5G. While, there’s an affordable Galaxy S10 Lite present as well, which was launched earlier last year.

Aside from the high-profile hardware, the Galaxy S10 series came equipped with the latest software system at that time. These models exclusively came with the Android 9-based One UI 1.1, and currently running the latest Android 11-based One UI 3.1.

So what about future updates! Is your Galaxy S10 series smartphone still eligible to get another Android upgrade after receiving two? So, the answer is… yes! At the time of their official launch, these devices were confirmed to get major upgrades up to Android 11, and monthly security updates every month.

Thanks to Samsung’s revised Android upgrade policy that made the third Android upgrade possible for the Galaxy S10 series. It’s confirmed that the Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+, and Galaxy S10 5G will upgrade the upcoming Android 12 version, most probably with One UI 4.0.

When will my Galaxy S10 get the One UI 4.0 update?

Talking some words about its availability, the Korean tech giant could begin the Android 12 adoption process just after few days of the stable Android 12 release, which could happen in September this year. Following this, the company will announce the One UI 4.0 Developer Beta, followed by a public beta for general users.

Specifically for the Galaxy S10 series, these devices are expected to grab the stable Android 12 and One UI 4.0 upgrade early next year. Meanwhile, there’s no authentic info available regarding their eligibility to participate in the One UI 4 Beta ahead of a stable release.

  • Note: After Android 12, the Galaxy S10 Lite will get Android 13 update as well.
