BREAKING: One UI 3.5 is not coming? Samsung to release One UI 3.1.1 instead

Just recently, well-known tipster IceUniverse revealed that Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 will come with the so-called One UI 3.1.1 version, however, it was expected to run the One UI 3.5 based on Android 11.

If this leak is correct, then we will see a truly new One UI version, One UI 3.1.1 that could be really a minor upgrade over One UI 3.1. Last year, Samsung launched the Galaxy Note 20 series with the One UI 2.5 that was rolled out to several Galaxy phones.

If we take a look at the naming strategy of Samsung for its custom skin, we found that it had introduced total of three iterations of previous One UIs including:

  • One UI 1.0
  • One UI 1.1
  • One UI 1.5
  • One UI 2.0
  • One UI 2.1
  • One UI 2.5

Following the same habit, the Korean tech giant launched the One UI version 3.0 based on Android 11, followed by One UI 3.1. Though, the Galaxy S21 series exclusively comes with the 3.5 version of One UI out of the box.

However, IceUniverse is a famous tipster that exposes authentic data from the tech industry. If Samsung does the same, then there will be a unique One UI variant called One UI 3.1.1 instead of the most expected One UI 3.5.

  • One UI 3.0
  • One UI 3.1
  • One UI 3.5 One UI 3.1.1

Lastly, we’ve to wait for an official confirmation that could happen on August 3, 2021. Aside from this, I’ve heard that Samsung is going to start the Android 12 testing for the Galaxy S series next month, so don’t forget to read the upcoming article!
