At the Mobile World Congress 2021, Samsung introduced its Wear OS version called One UI Watch for the upcoming Galaxy Watch. Following its collaboration with Google, the new and unified wearable platform will feature One UI’s functionalities on top of the Wear OS.

Samsung said that the new interface is designed to make the Galaxy Watch and smartphone experience more deeply connected. At the same time, the company confirmed that its upcoming Galaxy Watch will become the first to feature the new, unified platform it jointly built with Google.

Based on Google Wear OS, Samsung One UI Watch brings performance enhancements, a more seamless experience between the Watch and Android smartphones as well as access to an even greater number of applications.

Surprisingly, Samsung confirmed that its upcoming Galaxy Watch (tentative name Galaxy Watch 4) featuring the new unified platform and One UI Watch will make its debut at the Unpacked event later this summer.

Together with the new unified platform, Samsung One UI Watch will present an entirely new Galaxy Watch experience. Once you install watch-compatible apps on your smartphone, they will be quickly downloaded onto your smartwatch.

Furthermore, if you’ve customized your clock app on your phone to show the time in different cities around the globe, this will also be automatically reflected on your watch. Besides, if you block calls and messages from your watch, they will now be blocked on your smartphone, too.

Adding to this, Samsung will offer an improved watch face design tool, which will make it easier than ever for designers to create new watch faces. Android developers will be able to unleash their creativity and release fun, new designs that will be added to Samsung’s collection of watch faces later this year.
