New WhatsApp update lets users review voice messages before sharing

WhatsApp recently released a new update for beta testers on Android via the Google Play Beta app. The latest release contains version number – 2.21.14.18 and is available for download via the Google Play Store.

The new WhatsApp update brings minor UI tweaks inside the chats section that can be found on the voice messages. According to WABetaInfo, the Facebook-owned app bringing some UI changes for voice messages as you will see voice waveforms on the message bubble.

The blog further revealed that the newly added interface is quite identical to the one implemented on Instagram voice messages previously. The good news is that this new functionality is available today for all Android beta testers, while the stable release could happen later.

How it actually works while recording your voice message?

  • When the feature will be enabled, you can see voice waveforms when you record a voice message:

  • When the user taps the stop button, he will be able to listen to the voice message before sending it.
