Google has finally announced the twelfth major generation of its Android operating system and it’s now Samsung’s turn to introduce its Android 12-based One UI version for Galaxy devices. If the history is any indication, the next version will be called One UI 4.0.

According to the latest leak (via IceUniverse), the expected early One UI 4.0 Beta announcement will be postponed. At the same time, the company could take a bit longer to start its Android 12 and One UI 4.0 (Beta) rollout for the Galaxy devices.

SOS is One UI 4?

Aside from the rollout suspension, the same source further revealed that the One UI 4 is internally named SOS. However, the Android 12’s codename is Snow Cake, the internal code name SOS for One UI 4 makes sense, meanwhile, we can’t say anymore regarding the company’s naming strategy.

Previously, the tipster revealed that Samsung will announce the One UI 4.0 Beta for Galaxy S21 series in mid-July 2021, which seems quite early than the previous generations. Usually, the company begins the adoption process of the new Android OS after a stable/official release, which could happen in September.

One UI 4.0 to come later this year!

As per our information, the Korean tech giant will introduce the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 somewhere in late September for developers, followed by public Beta in October this year. All the latest flagship Galaxies from select regions will be able to join and test the upcoming One UI version ahead of a stable release.

As Google revealed the Android 12 equipped with radical design changes and major user interface overhaul compared to previous generations, expectations from Samsung’s One UI 4 are also high. Although we don’t have authentic information, we will keep you posted on this matter.
