Samsung improves Galaxy Watch 3’s blood oxygen (SpO2) monitoring with new firmware update
Samsung pushed a new firmware update for the Galaxy Watch 3 users in India, which comes with PDA build number R845FXXU1DUE4. We have the official changelog of this update that mentions not just system stability improvements.
According to Samsung, the new Galaxy Watch 3 firmware update adds support for voice guidance through the headset paired with your smartphone while exercising. Furthermore, the watch will also guide travelled distance and HR data if the Auto Lap feature is enabled during Running/Cycling.
Apart from feature additions, the new s/w update improves the Blood Oxygen measurement functionality of the Galaxy smartwatch for better results and improved monitoring. Due to the Covid-19 disease, SpO2 monitoring is one of the most important functionality nowadays.
Not a new thing, the Korean tech giant is gradually expanding the rollout of this new Galaxy Watch 3 update, so it may take some time to reach every unit. However, you can manually check for updates by opening the Samsung Wearable app >> Software updates section >> Download and install.

Future Galaxy Watch won’t come with Tizen OS
Samsung and Google have officially confirmed that they are merging the Tizen OS with Wear OS to develop a unified wearable platform. Furthermore, it’s confirmed that the future Galaxy Watch will run the new and enhanced version of Wear OS instead of Tizen OS.
