Samsung reportedly revealed possible locations for its new US chip factory

Samsung is considering building a new chip fabrication plant in the United States to further grow its semiconductor business.  Recently, it’s said that the company is planning to invest around $17 billion in order to establish another foundry in the US.

According to MobileWorldLive, the Korean giant released information about US locations for its new chip fabrication plant. The company reportedly stated that it’s thinking to establish a production site in Arizona, New York and Texas, where’s a fabrication plant is already located.

Taylor, Texas is one of the sites under consideration for the new facility, while additional locations include a spot in Genesee County, New York, and two areas in Arizona near the cities of Goodyear and Queens Creek.

As per the documents filed with local authorities in Taylor, Samsung confirmed that the new foundry will produce “advanced logic devices for Samsung’s Foundry business”. The construction will begin earlier next year and will end in late 2024. Furthermore, the new chip factory will create 1800 new jobs in the country.
